Q5 Heat

MATTER // 01

We all know that our universe is made of Matter and Antimatter, the law's of Physics where based on the behaviour of MATTER and it is only lately that we began to understand better Antimatter. Both where created in equal amounts at the beginning of the Big Bang, but as we learn more about Matter, it seems that some parts of the universe have a greater concentration of MATTER, whereas some others with antimatter.

Let's play with MATTER and their changes !!

EM SPECTRUM // 03

Understanding that the room where you are right know is invaded with different types of waves, makes us to reflect on how is it possible to use them for different purposes (WiFi, microwaves, light waves, etc.), and the answer is because of their wavelength.

The EM SPECTRUM shows us the different types of waves  from Radio waves (the ones with lowest energy) to Gamma rays (the ones with highest energy).

The human opitic range is capable of see just a very little part of the EM SPECTRUM, but it is capable to see combination of these wavelengths making possible to see more colors.

Let's prove how much we can see using the next games !!

WAVES // 02

Water, Sound and Light WAVES follow the same rules and in essence is a transfer of energy through a medium.

Waves can be; Longitudinal, Transverse and Surface.

In Longitudinal waves, particles of the medium move in a direction parallel to the direction that the wave moves.

In Transverse waves, particles of the medium move in a direction perpendicular to the direction that the wave moves.

Finally in Surface waves, particles of the medium undergo a circular motion.

Let's jump into some waves games and get wet!!

HEAT & TEMPERATURE // 04

HEAT & TEMPERATURE are often confused and used as synonims, but they are two different things.

HEAT is the measure of the amount of energy that a system has. It is measured in Joules (J) and triggers in molecules vibration, rotation and/or motion of them.

TEMPERATURE is the maesure of the average molecular motion in a system and it is measured in Celsuis (C), Farhenheit (F), Kelvin (K) or Rankine (R).

Fluids like Mercury, Water or some Alcohols are used to register temperature, but nowdays electronic devices can measure it using electricity.

Let's heat up with the next games!!!

THE ATOM // 05

Physics and Chemistry are bonded together in our universe and the best example of this situation is the ATOM.

ATOM theory began  400 years BC, but for a long time it remaind rejected and hidden from the world. It was until John Dalton that brought back Democritus theory and improve with the knowldge he had a that time and from there the discoveries on the ATOM structure speed up and gave us a much better understanding of not just matter , but also antimatter.

After WW2, the scientific world understtod that knowledge of the ATOM could be used for destruction purposes, making us to be more cautious on its research.

Let's put together our atom knowledge and burst in fun !!!
